Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The assaults succeed periods of air raids in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
